Using music as a foundation to help empower students to find their creative passion
Meet the Board
The Texas Music Partners Board of Directors would like to introduce themselves to you. These are our dedicated, hard-working behind-the-scenes players that help make Texas Music Partners the exciting innovative organization it is today.
Kevin Guico (Chair), Kevin Guico brings over five years of classroom education, education nonprofit, and strategic planning and adult learning professional development as a Texas Music Partners board member. His work in public education includes advising and project managing and advising organizations, districts, educators, and school leaders both Texas and nationally. His professional experiences include anti-racism facilitation, career and leadership development, grants, communications, and community organizing. In the classroom, Kevin taught 7th grade ELA and led an afterschool modern band program for middle school, and outside the classroom, he fundraised for an arts education nonprofit and currently volunteers as a music lessons instructor for students in the foster system.
Kevin holds a B.A. in Music Management and a minor in Business Management from the Conservatory of Music at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA. As a bassist, educator, and equity advocate, he is beyond excited about the work that TMP does at the intersection of music and education.
Kevin is based in Austin, TX and enjoys playing bass locally and professionally, and can be found swimming, biking, running, or relaxing with his cat.
Kenny’s emphasis is on opening the minds of future generations by showing kids how to use creativity, technology, and music to help them find a creative passion.
