Meet the Board

The Texas Music Partners Board of Directors would like to introduce themselves to you.  These are our dedicated, hard-working behind-the-scenes players that help make Texas Music Partners the exciting innovative organization it is today.


Kevin Guico (Chair), Kevin Guico brings over five years of classroom education, education nonprofit, and strategic planning and adult learning professional development as a Texas Music Partners board member. His work in public education includes advising and project managing and advising organizations, districts, educators, and school leaders both Texas and nationally. His professional experiences include anti-racism facilitation, career and leadership development, grants, communications, and community organizing. In the classroom, Kevin taught 7th grade ELA and led an afterschool modern band program for middle school, and outside the classroom, he fundraised for an arts education nonprofit and currently volunteers as a music lessons instructor for students in the foster system. 

 

Kevin holds a B.A. in Music Management and a minor in Business Management from the Conservatory of Music at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA. As a bassist, educator, and equity advocate, he is beyond excited about the work that TMP does at the intersection of music and education.

 

Kevin is based in Austin, TX and enjoys playing bass locally and professionally, and can be found swimming, biking, running, or relaxing with his cat.

 


Ryan Miller, Board memberRyan Miller (Secretary), has 10 years of real estate experience, ranging from operations and administration to more recently specializing in financial reporting and analytics.  Ryan is a Senior Director for a publicly-traded real estate investment trust in Austin where he plays an integral role in the company’s FP&A (financial planning and analysis) processes, as well as driving operational efficiencies across the organization.

Prior to realizing his passion for analytics, Ryan was a music student playing brass wind instruments specializing in French Horn. During his high school and collegiate activities, Ryan participated in various wind ensembles, marching bands, and orchestras.

Ryan has been in the West Austin area since 2016, recently moving to Dripping Springs with his girlfriend and their two cocker spaniels.

 


Sadiq Mohammed (Board Member), Sadiq has a master’s degree in political science and business administration. Sadiq has a long background in the energy sector and analytics industry, working with companies such as HCL Tech, KPMG, Deutsche Bank, and Unscramble, Inc.  In 2013 Sadiq founded GreenHatters, a company geared towards energy conservation, leading to carbon reduction.

 

Sadiq’s strengths are in project management, negotiating skills, new business development, and client relationship management.  One of Sadiq’s many project accomplishments is providing advisory services to philanthropy foundations and non-profit sectors.  Sadiq collaborated with executive teams to help define organizations’ vision, mission, and finance strategies for grantmaking around significant social impact initiatives.

 


 

Angela Nazworth, APR, (Vice-Chair) Angela brings 25 years of experience in marketing and communications to Texas Music Partners.  Angela is currently the Vice President of Strategic Communications at Upbring, a nonprofit dedicated to breaking the cycle of child abuse by empowering children. During her professional career, Angela held roles in multiple sectors of public relations and marketing, including entertainment, finance, education, and nonprofit. Prior to her current role at Upbring, she served as Director of Impact Communications and Storytelling as well as Director of Philanthropic Communications for the American Diabetes Association. Angela has also worked for several reputable companies where she wrote news briefs and feature articles, directed the creation of promotional publications, and managed internal and external communications strategies, programs, and campaigns. 

 

Angela earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications, with a minor in Writing and Sociology from Houghton College, and obtained Accreditation in Public Relations through the Public Relations Society of America.

 

She, her husband, and their two children live in Pflugerville, Texas. When she is not in the office, she enjoys spending time with family, reading, yoga, and cheering for her son who is a percussionist with the Weiss High School Marching Band.

 


Kenny Felton (Board President/Founder/Executive Director), Is a skilled musician and instructor with a technical background.  Kenny received his Bachelor’s degree in Music, Audio Technology, and Ethnomusicology from Indiana University.

With over 46 years of experience as a professional musician, 22 years of experience teaching drums/percussion, and 22 years of experience managing computers, computer networks, and telecommunications circuits, Kenny has the experience needed to make sure Texas Music Partners stays the course in its mission.

Kenny’s emphasis is on opening the minds of future generations by showing kids how to use creativity, technology, and music to help them find a creative passion.
